REMOTE SENSING CAPABILITIES FOR ASSESSING GROUNDWATER LEVELS (A CASE STUDY OF THE FERGANA VALLEY)

This article analyzes the possibilities of remote sensing for assessing groundwater level variations. In addition to the NDMI
(Normalized Difference Moisture Index), a number of supplementary spectral indices were applied to determine groundwater levels
more accurately. Based on the results of the analysis, a spatial distribution map of groundwater levels in the Fergana Valley was
produced
