In this study, a technology was developed for modifying polyethylene-based polymer materials using copper (II) and zinc (II)
diethyldithiocarbamate complexes (Cu(DDTC) 2 and Zn(DDTC) 2 ). The metal complexes were synthesized in an aqueous medium
through the interaction of sodium diethyldithiocarbamate with copper and zinc sulfates, respectively. The resulting complexes were
introduced into a molten polyethylene matrix, and composite samples were prepared via extrusion and injection molding methods.
Mechanical tests revealed a significant increase in the modulus of elasticity and ultimate tensile strength indicators. In the sample
containing Zn (DDTC) 2 , the modulus increased by 26.7%, while in the sample with Cu (DDTC) 2 , the ultimate tensile strength
increased by 48.9%.
