Maqolada Yevropa va Amerika davriy nashrlarida adabiy jurnal modelining shakllanishi va rivojlanishi ko‘rib chiqiladi. Adabiy jurnalga badiiy matn, tanqid, publitsistika va o‘quvchi retsepsiyasi yagona madaniy makonni tashkil etadigan adabiyot mavjudligining o‘ziga xos shakli sifatida alohida e’tibor qaratiladi. Maqolada XVII–XVIII asrlardagi dastlabki Yevropa nashrlaridan XIX–XX asrlardagi nufuzli jurnallargacha bo‘lgan adabiy-jurnal an’anasining asosiy shakllanish bosqichlari yoritiladi.
