In Uzbekistan, as in all spheres of public life, state policy in the religious sphere was formed on the eve of independence, based on the principles of equality and equal opportunities for all religions before the law, without discriminating against the national and religious feelings of all the peoples living in the republic (although Muslims make up the majority of the country's population).
