This article comprehensively covers the role, origins, and classification of Arabic and Persian loanwords in the lexical development of the Uzbek language. First of all, the influence of internal and external sources on the vocabulary of the Uzbek language is revealed. It is discussed how words borrowed from external sources, in particular from Arabic and Persian, were assimilated into the language.
