ONOMASTIK BIRLIKLARNING INGLIZ VA O‘ZBEK TILLARIDA QIYOSIY TAHLILI
This research article provides a comparative analysis of onomastic units in English and Uzbek languages. The study examines the formation sources, etymological layers, structural features, and linguocultural functions of anthroponyms, toponyms, ethnonyms, hydronyms, and other proper names. Similarities and differences between the English and Uzbek onomastic systems are identified, and the cultural foundations of naming practices are analyzed. The article also discusses major issues in translating proper names between English and Uzbek and offers methodological solutions. The findings contribute to comparative linguistics, cultural linguistics, and translation studies.
