This article analyzes the content and essence of tasks designed to develop studentsʼ sociolinguistic competence in English within
the framework of independent learning. Independent learning tasks integrate studentsʼ in-class and out-of-class activities and are
based on interactive methods, digital tools, and project-based work. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of project tasks, role
plays (“Online Survey,” “Radio Conversation,” “Social Survey”), and case study assignments in fostering competence
development. In addition, the authorʼs “Station Rotation” technology is shown to create opportunities for students to enhance
critical and creative thinking, collaboration, and effective communication skills in the process of independent learning.
