THE ENTRY OF WORDS FROM ENGLISH INTO UZBEK AND THEIR ADAPTATION
The article analyzes the phonetic, morphological and semantic adaptation processes of words entering Uzbek from English. The
study examines the pathways of English borrowings during the Soviet period and post-independence years, the intermediary role
of Russian, and modern terminology development. Analysis shows that while English terms mainly entered through Russian before
independence, since 1991 the number of words borrowed directly from English has increased significantly.
