This article examines the process of reterminologization in ecological terminology from linguistic and cognitive perspectives.
Using the terms green economy and economic resources as case studies, the paper explores how ecological concepts enter economic
and political discourse and acquire new semantic and functional features. It is demonstrated that reterminologization occurs through
semantic expansion, abstraction, and the increasing use of terms in normative and applied contexts. The study employs discourse
analysis, comparative-semantic analysis, and a cognitive approach. The findings confirm the adaptability of the Uzbek
terminological system to interdisciplinary interaction and contemporary socio-economic needs. The results may contribute to the
systematic development of environmental and economic terminology.
