This article is devoted to a theoretical study of the scientific aspects of interdisciplinary connections. It examines interdisciplinary connections in the educational process as a didactic condition for forming students’ holistic and systematic knowledge of the fundamentals of sciences, as an integral part of the principle of systematicity, and as a pedagogical category. In addition, their classifications depending on time and content, as well as other characteristics, are analyzed.
