This article examines the linguistic nature of family law legal texts from a comparative perspective, focusing on English and Uzbek legal systems. Family law texts are characterized by specialized terminology, complex syntactic structures, and normative semantic content, which collectively ensure precision, consistency, and enforceability. The study analyzes lexical, syntactic, and semantic features, highlighting their role in legal interpretation and translation. A comparative examination demonstrates both functional equivalence and linguistic variability between English and Uzbek family law terminology. The findings emphasize that understanding the linguistic features of legal texts is essential for accurate interpretation, effective legislative drafting, and reliable translation.
