A LINGUOCULTUROLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF GAS AND GAS PROCESSING INDUSTRY TERMINILOGY IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK
This article provides a comprehensive linguoculturological analysis of gas and gas processing industry terminology in English
and Uzbek. Terminology is examined not merely as a technical vocabulary but as a reflection of the cultural cognition, historical
context, and conceptual worldview inherent in each language. The study identifies semantic structures, cultural connotations,
metaphorical foundations, and translational transformations of industry-specific terms. English terms frequently display
metaphorical-technological constructions, while their Uzbek counterparts are often descriptive or derived via Russian
borrowings. The article concludes that achieving terminological coherence and addressing intercultural semantic discrepancies
are essential for effective technical translation and terminology standardization in the gas sector.
