THEORETICAL FOUNDATIONS OF DEVELOPING COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE BASED ON A SOCIOCULTURAL APPROACH
This article examines the theoretical foundations of developing communicative competence based on a sociocultural approach. In
modern education, the ability of students to participate effectively in communication and interact freely in diverse social and
cultural contexts is considered an important pedagogical objective. Therefore, the development of communicative competence
requires studying language not only as a grammatical system but also as a social and cultural phenomenon. The study analyzes the
essence of communicative competence, its structural components, and the influence of sociocultural factors on communicative
activity. Furthermore, the effectiveness of using authentic materials, dialogic communication, problem-based situations, and
interactive teaching methods in developing communicative competence is substantiated. The findings of the research contribute to
enhancing students’ intercultural communication skills, social adaptation, and effective communicative interaction in the
educational process.
