This article analyzes the methodological possibilities of increasing students’ communicative activity through polylogical speech in higher education. The study focuses on organizing multi-participant communication in foreign language classes and developing students’ ability to listen, question, argue, clarify and defend their position. Analytical, comparative and modelling methods were used to synthesize views on communicative competence, dialogic pedagogy, collaborative learning, project-based speaking tasks and digital tools. Practical recommendations and assessment criteria are offered for applying debates, the “Aquarium” method, case studies, project work and digital platforms in developing oral communicative competence.
