This article presents a comparative analysis of the semantic field of hand movement verbs in English and Uzbek using corpusbased and cognitive approaches. English has 5 core clusters (manipulation, locomotion, tactile contact, gesture, impact), while Uzbek has 6 (adding a “take-give” cluster). Typological similarities (agency, force, resultativity) and differences are identified: English predominantly uses phrasal verbs, whereas Uzbek relies on affixal derivation.
