This article analyzes the main linguistic, cultural, and pragmatic problems that arise in the process of translating Uzbek phraseological units into Arabic. Since phraseological units reflect the national mentality, historical experience, way of life, and figurative thinking of a people, their translation into another language, particularly into Arabic, cannot be carried out through simple lexical substitution. The article examines how the semantic integrity, degree of imagery, national-cultural components, and religious and social connotations of phraseological units create difficulties in translation. In the course of the study, certain phraseological units in Uzbek and Arabic are comparatively analyzed, and the effectiveness of such translation methods as finding equivalents, selecting analogical expressions, explanatory translation, and contextual adaptation is highlighted.
