This article presents the theoretical and methodological foundations for developing vocational technical school students’ oral communication skills in English through case technology. Based on learners’ need to express opinions, ask questions, explain problems, make collaborative decisions and justify their positions in everyday and profession-related situations, criteria for designing educational cases are specified. The proposed model includes diagnostic and motivational preparation, lexical and communicative scaffolding, situation analysis, role-based interaction, presentation of solutions and reflective assessment. The article proposes assessment criteria for oral communication: content relevance, fluency, interaction, use of professional vocabulary, grammatical accuracy and pronunciation. It is argued that case technology brings English lessons closer to future workplace communication, increases students’ active participation and supports independent thinking, teamwork and reflective learning.
