SYNTHESIS OF BIS-AMINO ACIDS BASED ON ALKALINE AND ACID HYDROLYSIS OF BIS-AMINONITRILES
Downloads
The alkaline and acid hydrolysis of 2,2’-(butane-1,4-diybis(azanadiyl))bis(2-methylprpanenitrile) was investigated. The reactions
were carried out in alcoholic and aqueous sodium hydroxide solutions, as well as in an aqueous hydrochloric acid solution. The
effects of reaction medium, temperature, and process duration on product yield were evaluated. Complete conversion of the starting
bis-aminonitrile was observed under all investigated conditions, and the corresponding bis-amino acid was obtained in 86-94%
yield. The structure of the synthesized compound was confirmed by FTIR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry.
