The article provides a comparative-philosophical analysis of the canonical Confucian image of the noble person (junzi, 君子) and of its functioning in the value system of contemporary Chinese society. The relevance of the topic is determined by the fact that, in the context of globalization, transitional societies are searching for strategies that harmonize national spiritual heritage with the demands of modernization. The research applies comparative-philosophical, historical-genetic, hermeneutic and structural-functional methods. The image of junzi is examined in three dimensions: as an ethical criterion, as a model of political-administrative culture, and as an instrument of national-cultural identification. It is compared with the ideas of the perfect man (komil inson) and the virtuous man (fozil inson) in the Central Asian-Islamic tradition, in particular in the teachings of Abu Nasr al-Farabi and Alisher Navoi. The results show that these images display a deep functional similarity while resting on substantially different metaphysical foundations. On this basis, the author substantiates the methodological position that moral universalism and cultural relativism should be regarded not as mutually exclusive alternatives but as complementary levels of analysis, and formulates practical proposals for the sphere of moral education in Uzbekistan.
