REFORMS, RESULTS, AND PROBLEMS IN THE EDUCATION SYSTEM OF SOUTHERN REGIONS (EXEMPLIFIED BY SURKHONDARYO AND QASHQADARYO REGIONS, 1991–2023)
This article analyzes the reforms implemented in the education system of the southern regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, specifically Surkhondaryo and Qashqadaryo regions, during the years of independence (1991–2023), their results, and existing problems. The article examines state policy in education, infrastructure development, modernization of higher and secondary specialized education, as well as factors affecting the quality and coverage of education. Regional characteristics, positive outcomes, and ongoing challenges are scientifically analyzed using the example of Surkhondaryo and Qashqadaryo regions. The research relies on statistical data, official documents, and scientific literature
