This article analyzes the concept, technologies, content, and challenges of developing the creative potential of students in higher education institutions. It explores the scientific meaning of the term “concept,” its principles, the structure of educational concepts, the regulatory documents that serve as sources for forming such a concept and key ideas of the concept. Furthermore, the article emphasizes the leading ideas of the concept aimed at enhancing the creative potential of university students within socio-cultural activities. It provides an analysis of these ideas and underlines several important and relevant aspects of students’ independent creative engagement in such activities
