This article provides a historical analysis of livestock product processing in the Uzbek SSR during the 1960s–1970s. It examines the existing challenges in production and processing, the influence of state policies, the outcomes of economic reforms, and the socio-economic factors behind the development of the food industry based on livestock products. Using archival documents, statistical data, and periodical press materials, the article reveals the efficiency of production, the role of processing enterprises, and the transformations in the livestock product procurement system of that period.
