LINGUISTIC ISSUES IN THE NATIONALIZATION OF FOREIGN WORDS IN THE UZBEK LANGUAGE
The article explores the challenges of replacing borrowings used in the written styles of modern Uzbek literary language with their national equivalents. Under the influence of globalization, the growing dominance of the English language over other world languages has made the preservation of linguistic purity an important academic issue. The author analyzes the reasons for the active use of borrowings from English, French, and other languages, despite the existence of Uzbek equivalents. At the same time, foreign borrowings are not entirely rejected: the author determines cases where their adoption is justified and proposes Uzbek alternatives for those used inappropriately. The study employs descriptive and comparative methods to examine the meanings of borrowed words and their Uzbek counterparts. The results can serve as a practical reference for further studies on the nationalization and adaptation of foreign words in the Uzbek language.
