CONTEMPORARY SPECIES COMPOSITION OF THE ICHTHYOFAUNA OF THE SOKH RIVER
The Sokh River plays an important role in the formation of the ichthyofauna of the Fergana Valley. This article presents the first
comprehensive checklist of fish species found in the Sokh River. According to the research results, the river's ichthyofauna
currently includes 14 species belonging to 4 orders, 9 families, and 13 genera. Furthermore, the distribution of species along the
river's course was studied: 3 species were recorded in the upper reaches, 4 species in the middle reaches, and 13 species in the
lower reaches. The river's endemic species, Triplophysa daryoae, has so far only been recorded from the upper and middle reaches.
