The Sapalli culture, which formed in Northern Bactria during the Late Bronze Age (2250–1300 BCE), is represented by numerous archaeological finds, including a wide variety of ornaments (pins, diadems, earrings, beads, necklaces, pendants, amulets, bracelets, and rings). Among these types of jewelry, the diadems stand out for their craftsmanship and visual appeal. Since a diadem is a type of crown, in ancient times it served as an adornment symbolizing the status of men. This article discusses six diadems belonging to the class of head ornaments discovered at sites of the Sapalli culture, providing scientific and historical information about their morphological types (leaf-shaped, crescent-shaped, and triangular kerchief types) and their functions.
