This article examines the functional and pragmatic features of food-related proverbs in the Uzbek and Karakalpak languages. The study focuses on the role of gastronomic vocabulary in paremiological units, their semantic load, and their functions in real communication. The comparative analysis reveals how cultural symbols such as bread, food, and taste are used in both languages to express social values, ethical norms, and traditional worldview. The findings demonstrate that these proverbs play an essential role in preserving cultural memory and maintaining social regulation within the speech community
