Taftazani’s scientific heritage is very extensive and multifaceted, encompassing works on Islamic philosophy, theology, logic,
poetry, the Arabic language, geometry and a number of other disciplines. It is known that Taftazani wrote more than forty books.
Among his most important and major works that have survived and are of particular importance are the following: “Tahzib al-

Davani and Kurdistanii; “Maqasid fi ilm al-kalam” or “Maqasid at-tolibin fi usul ad-din” (“The Goals of Seekers of the Foundations
of Religion”). In addition to these, the works “al-Mutawwal” (“Broad Interpretation”), “Mukhtasar al-maoni” (“Brief Meanings”),
“al-Irshad al-hadiyy” (“The Guide Who Leads the Way”) are known.
