This article analyzes international practices in assessing students’ knowledge. It focuses on global assessment programs such as PISA, TIMSS, and PIRLS, their objectives, methodologies, and the impact they have on Uzbekistan’s education system. Based on foreign experience, the article proposes ways to improve assessment criteria and enhance students’ functional literacy.
