This article is devoted to the study of the terms related to ecosystems in Uzbek and English. The history of their emergence and
use in science is analyzed. This article studies the morphemic structure of terms, semantic layers, hierarchical and lexical features,
as well as the linguistic specificity of terms. Issues of equivalence between English and Uzbek, synonym and antonym relationships,
and difficulties in the translation and adaptation process are also discussed in detail. The relationship of terms with ecology, biology
and other sciences, and their interdisciplinary use are also analyzed.
