This article examines the role of note-taking in consecutive interpreting from a language-oriented semantic perspective, using English – Uzbek diplomatic discourse as a case study. The study argues that traditional idea-based note-taking models are not always sufficient for preserving pragmatic and semantic nuances in language pairs with significant structural and discourse differences The proposed language-oriented approach contributes to improving accuracy and pragmatic adequacy in consecutive interpreting training and practice.
