The article analyzes the poem Demon by Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov in the context of the philosophical pursuits of nineteenth-
century Russian Romanticism. The study aims to identify the distinctive features of the work’s artistic discourse, which emerges
at the intersection of mythological, biblical, and Romantic traditions. Particular attention is given to the interpretation of the Demon
as a complex and contradictory figure who transcends the conventional understanding of evil.
