PROBLEMS OF DEVIATION FROM TRADITION IN THE PERFORMANCE OF MAQAM BY CONTEMPORARY SINGERS
This article examines the problem of deviation from traditional performance principles in contemporary maqom vocal practice. It highlights
maqom as a complex system of orally transmitted musical tradition and analyzes transformations influenced by modern stage requirements
and mass media. Particular attention is given to issues such as improper pronunciation of poetic texts according to the aruz meter, reduction
of rhythmic and melodic development, simplification of musical structures, and the gradual loss of traditional ornamental elements
