This article presents a concise scientific overview of the linguistic, psycholinguistic, and didactic principles of integrating films and TV series into English language teaching. It argues that audiovisual materials provide a natural speech environment, strengthen listening, pronunciation, and lexical-grammatical skills, and significantly support communicative competence. The study highlights how pragmatic features, speech situations, and cultural elements acquired through audiovisual input deepen learners’ linguistic proficiency. It also outlines the motivational, multimodal, and creative benefits of such resources, as well as key criteria for film selection and methodological application. Findings confirm that films and TV series are an effective pedagogical tool that enhances the quality of foreign-language intractions.
