This article explores the artistic and psychological interpretation of the father figure in the short stories of Abduqayum Yuldashev, a prominent representative of contemporary Uzbek literature. Through the analysis of works such as "Mubtalo" (The Addict) and "Vunderkind" (The Prodigy), the author scientifically substantiates how the father's character is revealed against the backdrop of social contradictions and the crisis of the political system. The study examines transformations in character psychology, specifically the issues of personality decline under the influence of societal flaws, in comparison with the theoretical perspectives of literary scholars. Furthermore, it highlights the writer's mastery of first-person narration, the method of generalizing life details, and the role of retrospective plot devices within the artistic text. The findings indicate that the father image in Yuldashev’s prose is not merely a head of the family but serves as a mirror of moral and ethical problems, subordinated to the will of the era. The results of this research hold significant importance for studying the psychology of characters in modern Uzbek prose.
