THE USE OF CLIMATIC RESOURCES AS A DRIVER OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN DESERT REGIONS (ON THE EXAMPLE OF BUKHARA REGION)
The article examines the use of climatic factors in ensuring sustainable development of desert areas in Uzbekistan, with the
Bukhara region as a case study. The characteristics of the region’s sharply continental climate, limited water resources, and the
impacts of climate change are analyzed. The practical importance of solar and wind energy, as well as atmospheric moisture
harvesting technologies (fog and dew), is assessed. Based on observational data from the Bukhara meteorological station for the
period 2018–2025, a statistical analysis of the main climatic processes was conducted, and the feasibility of implementing Fog-
Net technology as a local and supplementary water source was substantiated. The results contribute to enhancing environmental
sustainability and promoting the rational use of natural resources in desert regions.
