SPECTROSCOPIC ANALYSIS OF THE DETERMINATION OF Pb(II) IONS BASED ON A SORBENT OBTAINED FROM BANANA PEEL FROM ENVIRONMENTAL OBJECTS
In this study, a biosorbent prepared from banana peel was used for the sorption–spectroscopic determination of Pb(II) ions. To
enhance the sorption properties of the peel, it was chemically modified with a KOH solution, resulting in a significant improvement
in sorption efficiency. The sorption process was carried out at pH 5.5–6.0 for 4 hours. The obtained samples were analyzed using
spectrophotometry, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and X-ray fluorescence (XRF) techniques. The results showed effective
uptake of Pb(II) ions by the biosorbent: 8.99% lead was detected by SEM analysis, while 47.5% was determined by XRF analysis.
These findings confirm that the modified banana peel-based biosorbent exhibits high efficiency in the determination of Pb(II) ions.
