“TURKESTANSKIY SBORNIK” (TURKISTON TO‘PLAMI) NING TUZILISHI TARIXI VA UNING AHAMIYATI HAQIDA

In this article, the authorities of the Turkestan Governor-General's Office, established in 1867, highlighted issues related to the necessity of systematically studying this region as a region of great interest to more effectively utilize all available opportunities, particularly the search for communication routes requiring the export of raw materials necessary for the development of Russian industry, as well as the study of the as a result of the proposal to the well-known bibliographer Vladimir Izmailovich Mezhov to compile a collection covering all newspaper and magazine publications related to Central Asia and neighboring countries, as well as scientific works of Russian and foreign authors on various topics, in order to provide information to representatives of the Russian administration and the intelligentsia based on the collection of various information about social, political, historical, economic and cultural life, reflections were made on the processes related to the creation of the "Turkestan Collection"
