This article analyzes historical documents and sources about the course and terrible consequences of the "great massacre" of 1937
and reflects on the history of the nation at that time. The "Great Terror of 1937" refers to the period of political repression carried
out by the Stalinist regime in the Soviet Union. At that time, mass arrests, trials and repressions were organized against the
population, especially intellectuals, military and political opponents. Millions were arrested, sentenced to death, sent to camps or
exile. Most of them were victims of the indifference, mistakes and evil of the Stalinist regime. This period left a deep mark on the
history of the former "Union" and was one of the most brutal political repressions in the 20th century.
