COVERAGE OF SUICIDE IN THE MEDIA: INTERNATIONAL APPROACHES AND THE EXAMPLE OF INTERNET PUBLICATIONS IN UZBEKISTAN
This article analyzes international approaches to covering the topic of suicide in the media and the practice of covering this topic
on the example of Uzbek online publications. The study considers the Werther and Papageno effects as a theoretical basis explaining
the relationship between media and suicide. Also, the content, language style, level of coverage of event details, use of visual
content, and compliance with international journalism recommendations of materials published on social networks such as Daryo
and Kun.uz are analyzed comparatively. The results of the analysis show that although the practice of relying on official sources
in covering the topic of suicide in Uzbek online publications has been formed, some materials contain excessive coverage of event
details, full disclosure of personal information, and the use of visual materials that enhance the emotional impact
