Root-knot nematodes are among the most destructive endoparasitic plant-parasitic nematodes affecting vegetable crops worldwide.
Their pathogenicity is characterized by the formation of root galls, disruption of water and mineral nutrient transport, and
impairment of normal physiological processes in host plants. This article examines the morphological structure, life cycle, and
biological characteristics of representatives of the genus Meloidogyne. It also analyzes the pathogenesis occurring in root tissues,
the principal species distributed in the Zarafshan Valley, and their harmful effects on vegetable crops.
