BIOECOLOGICAL COMPOSITION AND ECOLOGICAL GROUPING OF THE ICHTHYOFAUNA IN THE UPPER AND MIDDLE REACHES OF THE CHORTOQSOY RIVER
The present study analyzes the bioecological structure of the ichthyofauna of the Chortoqsoy River. A total of 12 fish species were
recorded from the upper and middle reaches of the river. The identified species were classified into bioecological groups according
to habitat preference, trophic characteristics, origin, and ecological adaptability. The results demonstrated that the upper reaches of
the Chortoqsoy River represent important microhabitats for native and endemic rheophilic-benthic fishes. Species such as
Iskandaria kuschakewitschi, Gobio lepidolaemus, and Triplophysa ferganaensis were identified as significant components of the
Syr Darya basin ichthyofauna.
