USING AUTHENTIC MATERIALS TO ENHANCE SOCIOLINGUISTIC COMPETENCE IN FUTURE TRANSLATORS
This article analyzes the linguodidactic potential of using authentic materials to enhance the sociolinguistic competence of future
translators. The professional activity of a modern translator requires not only mastery of the grammatical, lexical, and semantic systems of
a foreign language and the native language, but also an understanding of how linguistic units are used in accordance with a particular social
situation, communicative purpose, addressee, social status, and cultural context. As a result of the study, a methodological algorithm for
developing sociolinguistic competence through authentic materials is proposed, consisting of the stages of material selection, contextual
analysis, translation and transformation, and reflective assessment.
