This article provides a systematic analysis of the development of science and culture during the era of Mirzo Ulugh Beg, a prominent representative of the Timurid Renaissance, a great ruler, and a distinguished scholar, based on primary written sources. The study examines the Samarkand School of Science established by Ulugh Beg, the system of higher education in madrasas, and the activities of the Samarkand Observatory. From a historical-critical perspective, particular attention is given to the distinctive computational methodology of the scholar’s fundamental work, Zij-i Kuragani, and its contribution to the development of world astronomy. The article also analyzes the socio-political factors that influenced the development of science during this period, as well as contemporary attitudes toward secular sciences.
