Determination of strontium-90 content in soil samples by performing calculations through its daughter radionuclide yttrium-90 is the most accurate method, but also requires a lot of time for analysis. A technique is proposed to simplify the analysis of soils for the content of strontium-90 radionuclide. The proposed technique is a sequence of actions aimed at the isolation of strontium and further beta spectrometry of beta particles isolated by strontium itself. The use of a strontium carrier during deposition makes it possible to determine the activity of strontium in samples where it is contained in small quantities. The proposed method measured the activity of Sr-90 radionuclide in soil samples taken near Lake Arnasoy. The average activity of strontium-90 radionuclide in the samples was 2 Bq/kg.
