Today, the English language plays a major role in international cooperation. It is important to introduce geology terms to students studying geology in English classes. Geological terms are made up of words or combinations of words. These types of terms include immovable, denotative, syntagmatic, categorical and grammatical meanings. Also, the terms related to geology, like the terms of other fields, have synonymous, polysemic, and sometimes homonymous relationships with terms not related to their field. Analysis
from the point of view of the source and process of emergence of terms, as well as the results of practical and mental activity of a person, shows how his experience is manifested with terms. The article provided an understanding of the characteristics and synonymy of geological terms in English, and the level of mastery of these terms were determined through experience.
