The article deals with the methods of development of independent thinking in preschool children. Modern pedagogical approaches aimed at the formation of cognitive activity, creativity and critical thinking are analyzed. Game technologies, project activities and problembased learning as key tools for the development of intellectual independence of the child are investigated. The results of the empirical study of the effectiveness of various methods are presented. The conclusions confirm the importance of the system approach in the formation of independent thinking in preschool children.
