EFFECT OF AUTOIMMUNE HYPOTHERIOSIS ON SMALL INTESTINAL ENZYMES AND ABSORPTION

autoimmune hypothyroidism, enteral disaccharidases activity.

Authors

In experimental autoimmune thyroiditis, rat’s body and small intestine weight increases, while hydrolysis and absorption of carbohydrates in the small intestine decrease. Chronic administration of selenium (0.4 mg/kg) to animals with autoimmune thyroiditis partially restores morphometric and small intestinal enzymatic and transport processes in the intestine.
