The field principle in the systematic organization of linguistic facts is one of the most important achievements of modern linguistics. The concept of "functional-semantic field" implies the interconnection of language tools on a semantic-functional basis and their systemic-structural organization. This concept was developed by renowned linguists J. Trier, B. Pottier, A. Bondarko, E. Coseriu, and S. Berejan. The advantage of the functional-semantic approach is that it allows studying language in its practical manifestation, in action, as well as analyzing the means of expressing extralinguistic phenomena. The linguistic corpus of measurement (in literary, terminological, and colloquial speech) differs from nation to nation, as it is determined by historical development, social beliefs, and the dominant ideology. The Uzbek language is very rich in lexical units related to measurement, which are widely used in mass media, fiction, and didactic materials. This article is devoted to the features of functioning of the functional-semantic field in the Uzbek language. The author defines the concept of "functional-semantic field," reveals lexemes denoting "measure" (conceptual field), conducts semantic analysis of field components (semes) and presents their microfields.
