THE CONTENT, ESSENCE, AND MAIN FUNCTIONS OF CRITICAL THINKING: REVIEW OF EXISTING LITERATURE
This article examines the concept of critical thinking by analyzing its definitions and interpretations in scientific literature, exploring its role in individual and social life through a comparative study of scholarly sources. The research employs content analysis of philosophical, pedagogical, and psychological aspects of critical thinking as studied recently in our country, CIS countries, and abroad. Based on the findings, it is recommended to distinguish between the tasks and functions of critical thinking at the individual (micro) level and at the societal (macro) level.
