This article is devoted to a deep analysis of the social and moral functions of language through the concept of “Or-nomus” (honor and dignity). It examines the communicative, cultural, and ethical aspects of language. The theoretical basis of the study is the speech act theory; the article explores the linguopragmatic features of the concepts “or” and “nomus,” i.e., their social and moral meanings expressed through language units. The article analyzes how the “Or-nomus” concept functions within locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary acts. At the locutionary level, the concept appears as a simple statement or descriptive expression. At the illocutionary level, it conveys communicative intentions such as admonition, warning, or advice. The perlocutionary act manifests in its psychological, moral, and practical influence on the listener or reader, encouraging adherence to social values. In literary texts, this concept serves to cultivate human virtues, promote social and ethical norms, and reinforce moral values.
